All About Spelling is program which teaches encoding skill using multisensory strategies for lifelong spelling success. It is scripted - telling you exactly what to say - and it’s an open and go programs that make teaching simple for parents.
Using the Orton-Gillingham approach, All About Spelling was created to help children with dylexsia and other reading struggles through activities using letter tiles, magnets, and other hands-on tools.
This is a 7 level program - meaning that it can be used at any grade level (so order students don’t feel embarrassed that their numbers don’t match their grade levels). It is mastery based.
All About Spelling is part of All About Learning Press - which focuses on two major areas in the language arts - spelling and reading.

Lots of Moving Parts, but Worth It
All About Spelling is a curricula with a lot of moving parts, but it is well worth the effort. The program is laid out by mastery levels, not grade levels, so everyone should be starting at Level 1 to make sure you aren’t missing out on concepts. Each level requires a Teachers Manuel, a Student Package (includes 4 types of flash cards: Phonograms, Sounds, Key Cards, and Word cards), as well as a set of Phonogram Tiles (either physical tiles which can be used on a magnet board, or download the app onto a device. Moving physical tiles to spell words is a great visual/tactile tool.) The program can be a bit expensive if buying new, but you can resell easily. I bought Levels 1-6 second-hand myself.
So far we have completed Levels 1 -3. It takes some getting used to with all the moving pieces, but it is a solid program and you will see results if you keep at it and figure out how to best utilize all the tools. The book is very open and go - and scripted! You’ll know exactly what to say to your child, when to spell a word in tiles, how to teach spelling rules, etc. Each Level is divided into a number of Steps. Each Step teaches your child a different phonogram (letter sound) or spelling rule. For Level 3, our weekly schedule was as follows:
Monday: Start new step by reviewing previous Cards. Complete “Word Analysis” and “New Teachings”. Get child to spell the week’s 10 new spelling words with Tiles.
Tuesday: Review “New Teachings” and get child to spell 10 spelling words on paper
Wednesday: Dictate 6 sentences to child for them to write on paper. (These sentences will include words from the current chapter as well as words from previous lessons which will reenforce previous learning.)
Thursday: Review Cards. Dictate the final 6 sentences to child for them to write on paper.
Done. (Some Steps were a bit long and we did “New Teachings” over two days in stead of one and therefore finished up sentences on Friday. Overall, Spelling takes us about 20 mins a day.)

Teacher's Manual only
I chose not to get the student pack with all the tiles/cards but can still follow along just fine with my kids using whiteboards or paper. The lessons are very solidly/logically laid out, no getting lost thanks to the script style.
