With courses designed for every grade from K-12, Apologia brings your student a unique way of learning science that will allow your student to become comfortable with talking about it in everyday conversation. Lessons include reading aloud from the textbook, student notebooking, and activities or projects that will bring science alive!
High school courses meet the requirements for lab credits and there are a variety of skill levels for all students. Science-oriented students can choose to move up to the advanced courses to prep for college.
Elementary science experiments use items commonly found around your home. Students are taught to keep a notebook or journal where they can record their observations regarding science, their experiences with projects, and their thoughts on the outcomes.
These courses have a predominantly Christian worldview. They are great for families with students in multiple grade levels.
Some classes are available online both as self-paced or live classes. Options also include audio, video, and e-books.
Love Apologia for science!!
We absolutely love Apologia science!! We’ve used it for 2 years now… Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics as well as Exploring Creation with Anatomy and Physiology. My girls are grade 3&5 and we can work through the books together. All the experiments are well laid out and fun for the kids to get some great hands on learning that really reinforces the lessons, but if there’s an experiment I don’t have supplies for/don’t want to do, it doesn’t feel like anything is missing! Great for Charlotte Mason/living book type learning with suggestions on when to stop and do narrations if you want to! You can buy a journaling notebook to go with the textbooks, but I haven’t bothered because it’s easy enough to just have the kids do their own work in a blank notebook. My oldest daughter was dreading studying the human body, but through this study she’s actually been fascinated because it’s not presented in a “gross” way, so it’s great for squeamish kids! Definitely from a Christian perspective (which we also love)!

Great program
I have used this program for Botany, Swimming Creatures, and Flying Creatures. It has been quite enjoyable. I love the colour pictures throughout, and the notebooking journals. Its nice to have the kit for the experiment materials but not needed- you can gather items yourself for less money, its just more convenient. My children have really enjoyed these programs. The books are written in a conversational style that is really nice to read or read out loud. The only thing that I would say is a con is that each book focuses on one topic for an entire year. So there isn’t a lot of variety for different topics there, like some science programs. However you go much more in depth instead of skimming the surface only, which is nice also.
