Heritage History is a study of history through stories. The desire behind this program was to bring old-fashioned story-telling back into popular use. The program relies on books that are in the public domain and maps and study guides that are no longer copy-righted.
There are 8 units based on civilizations rather than time periods. Some may overlap in their material because of this. The units are:
- Ancient Greece
- Ancient Rome
- British Middle Ages
- British Empire
- Spanish Empire
- Early America
- Christian Europe
- Modern Europe
Each unit has a list of books that can be read online or downloaded to a device (or printed). There are helpful study resources that include maps, key characters, timelines and more. Also included in some units are quiz sections to test your student’s knowledge of the subject after reading through the recommended list.
Teach your student to enjoy history rather than see it as just another subject.
