History Revealed is a unique approach to history through unit studies and storytelling.
This history curriculum follows a chronological path through three volumes, which you cycle through during your school years:
- Ancient Civilizations and the Bible
- Romans, Reformers, and Revolutionaries
- World Empires, World Missions, World Wars
Each volume should take about a year to complete (although there is room for longer or shorter as needed) and covers nine 4-week unit studies. It can be used with multiple grades at once. The main text is intended for students in grades 5-12, however there is an elementary activity book which makes it possible to include younger learners as well.
History Revealed relies heavily on Scripture as its base but it also uses some secular texts to expand on historical knowledge. This curriculum incorporates 4 different learning styles in each lesson. Students are able to read and listen to the text with the CD’s that are included. They then will explore what they’ve learned through essay questions and research. From there, students will engage in hands-on learning through map work, music, cooking, and more. Lastly, students will pick a form of creative expression to solidify and share what they have learned.
