KONOS is a Christian unit-study based curriculum for grades K-8th. KONOS has broken their system down into options that will cover every parent’s needs.
- The teacher guide book with up to two-three years worth of curriculum where parents pull together resources for themselves.
- A bag option that offers you some craft options and a map for one semester, focusing on a single topic.
- The box that offers you crafts, the resource book, plus a complete literature and writing analysis curriculum for 1 semester – everything you need for learning all together.
You decide which option works for your needs.
KONOS focuses on character qualities such as attentiveness, obedience, detemination, and honesty through various unit studies and hands-on activities. It is a very active program. Parents will add their own Language Arts and Math program to this curriculum in order to make it more complete.
Also available is a HomeSchoolMentor online program which includes weekly video support and lesson plans, how-to instructions, the option to email the creator, Jesssica, and more!
Konos Curriculum
We used this manual years ago to educate our 3 children. They are unit based so you pick the topic and they supply the math, language arts, reading, science, social, art, and phys-ed ideas to go with the theme. There are 3 or so levels so that you can teach most children in the family the same material with varying expectations of how they will do the work. In the manual we had the units are based on Christian character traits. This works for all elementary ages. I would recommend it as a starter for new home educators. You don’t spend a lot and you find out if you like the unit method and if you like to home school in a more relaxed way. Bottom line is to keep on going and pray a lot!
